WVHA is proud to be entering into the fourth year of the insurance scheme for Village Halls. Many Halls have benefited financially from the comprehensive insurance policies provided at a special discount by Zurich Municipal Insurance Company to members of the WVHA. Most Village Halls that have had quotations have seen the financial savings and joined the scheme.
Community First appointed a specialist member of staff to handle all the administration (provide quotations, process claims etc.). Jennie Lane is based at Wyndhams in Devizes and will be on hand to respond to your insurance needs. No more hassle trying to get responses from complicated telephone answering service.
The principal funders of the Village Hall Advisory Service (VHAS) have significantly reduced their level of commitment during the past few years and this has occurred over a period when the demand for the service has increased.
The Zurich Municipal Insurance scheme will generate funds to support the continued provision of Village Hall and local council advisory services; should cut the insurance costs incurred by Village Halls and Parish Councils; reducing dependence on grant income and ensure the future of the service in a sustainable way.
The WVHA has contributed financially to the development of this scheme, in order to ensure the continuation of the service through increased membership subscriptions. Therefore, from April 1st 2003 non-members of the WVHA will only receive limited help from the VHAS.
In order to take advantage of the Insurance Scheme you must be a member of the WVHA.
The objective is to make the application simple and straightforward. The quotation will include the cost of administration.
There is no compulsion to join the Insurance Scheme. Each Village Hall is free to obtain a quotation from Jennie and this will be provided without obligation. The Village Hall committees can then test the results against their current policy renewal figure.
You can still enjoy the benefits of membership of the WVHA even if you do not wish to join the Insurance Scheme.
